Shichigosan is a traditional Japanese event celebrated by 3 and 5 year old boys and 3 and 7 year old girls. In November, children dressed in kimono visit a Shinto shrine to report their healthy development and to receive divine blessings. Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha - Hawaii Dazaifu Tenmangu has initiated a special event with complimentary kimono dressing to perpetuate a tradition that is spiritually enriching and culturally exciting.
