This popular festival showcases the blooming of Waimea’s historic cherry trees and hanami, the Japanese tradition of viewing them. A host of activities sprawl from Church Row Park to the Parker Ranch Historic Homes. Visiting performers and artisans from Japan demonstrate the arts of bonsai, origami, sumie, calligraphy, and tea ceremonies. The giant craft fair and mochi pounding demonstrations take place at Parker Ranch Center. For more information, call 808-961-8706 or email Roxcie Waltjen at rwaltjen@co.hawaii.hi.us.

Enjoy Japanese and multi-cultural performing arts, plus demonstrations of bonsai, origami, sumie, caligraphy and tea ceremony. A giant craft fair and mochi pounding—samples are on the house—are at Parker Ranch Center.
